Congratulations to the Spring 2021 Presidential Research and Education Fund (PREF) Awardees. This year, the commission selected 9 of the most competitive proposals out of 14 applications from faculty, students, and staff.

Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the American University of Central Asia.

The online institute launches for young journalists across Central Asia. Young journalists representing Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will participate in a month-long virtual training program on topics including media literacy, data journalism, and digital storytelling.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between AUCA (Dr.Andrew Kuchins, President) and Global Compass (Jyldyz Sattarova, Director) on March 26, 2021. As part of the MoU AUCA students will have the opportunity to undergo an internship at Global Compass.

Now in the third semester of MAT, this cohort finally had the opportunity to meet face to face. Some students traveled from Osh, Naryn, and Karakol to join those already in Bishkek to meet and learn together, while other classmates joined online for a hybrid learning experience.
