ICP Ambassador Talks with H.E. Edoardo Crisafulli: Cultural Diplomacy in a Changing World

Join us for the Student Research Conference 2026 at the American University of Central Asia! The conference will be on April 25, 2026, 9:00-15:30 on our vibrant AUCA campus, providing a unique platform for graduate and senior-level students to showcase their groundbreaking research across various disciplines.

    The School of Oriental and African Studies once again hosted its annual research conference, bringing together scholars to present and discuss their latest academic findings. The event continues to serve as an important platform for critical dialogue on key socio-political and cultural developments in Central Asia and beyond.

On April 11, 2026, AUCA hosted the second Digital Humanities Symposium , bringing together over 50 faculty and students from 10 universities in Bishkek and the regions.

In this interview, Srdjan Uljevic, Assistant Professor at the AUCA GenEd Faculty , shares his perspective on the importance of building a strong academic foundation before pursuing studies abroad. Drawing on his interdisciplinary teaching experience, he discusses the challenges students often face when moving overseas immediately after high school and emphasizes the value of completing undergraduate education in a familiar cultural and social environment.

  As part of the university’s ongoing efforts to engage students with global humanitarian initiatives, a guest lecture was delivered by Seval, a representative of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Central Asia.

On March 31, 2026, faculty members of the Environmental Science and Climate Studies (ESCS) Department at American University of Central Asia — Sagynbek Orunbaev and Baktyiar Asanov — held a productive meeting with representatives from the International Water Management Institute.

  On March 26, the AUCA Library, Academic Advising Center, and Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology hosted the “Seniors’ Night and Pizza Party”. The event was designed to help senior and master’s students reflect on their academic journey and receive support for the final stage of their studies.

 
The 4th Annual FYS/SYS Conference was held on April 4th, bringing together students, faculty, and guests to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of our First-Year Seminar (FYS) and Second-Year Seminar (SYS) students.

A first-year Economics student at the AUCA, Nurai Sovetbekova, has won the Open Bishkek Chess Championship 2026, once again demonstrating her exceptional skill and leadership among Kyrgyzstan’s young athletes.
